Bootcamp

Phase 4 · Module 2 · From project to standard

Early week 12: ownership in line operations, continuous improvement with worker feedback and GIRI in onboarding, so that nothing gets orphaned.

Updated · GIRI 12.80.1

A project is temporary, and someone drives it. A standard is used by everyone, and nobody drives it any more. That transition is the most dangerous moment. If it fails, 6 months later you hear: “Nobody really uses it.”

The workshop: 90 minutes, 5 steps

  1. Move ownership into line operations (25 min). The shift lead for their line, quality management for inspection instructions, the safety officer for briefings. Not the pilot team. Talk to each person: “Are you in?” In GIRI, owners need an account with the edit right for their instructions (Roles and permissions).
  2. Continuous improvement (20 min). Everyone may report improvements: right in the instruction via Question or suggestion, on a note or by word of mouth. The owner decides and makes the change. Once a month, a short check: is everything up to date?
  3. GIRI onboarding for new hires (25 min). On day 1 the shift lead shows how GIRI works, then the new hire learns from the instructions. Building blocks: “How to use GIRI” as the first instruction, the 10–15 most important instructions in one folder, and a progress check (see below).
  4. Handover document (15 min). Who owns what, how to report changes, who maintains the onboarding, when it gets reviewed, who the support contact is. Store it centrally.
  5. Schedule the status check (5 min). A concrete date, about 3 months after week 12, in every owner’s calendar.
Worker feedback in the analytics: adopt it as a step, mark it as done or dismiss it

Homework from week 12 (~4 hrs)

  • Hold and confirm all ownership conversations.
  • Announce the improvement channel and run one test change.
  • Set a binding date for the onboarding switch: “From [date], new hires learn with GIRI.”
  • Publish the handover document.
  • Put the status check into every calendar.
